30 years of BMS Audio: A journey through our company history
Our milestones
It all began in 1982 with the development and production of mobile loudspeaker systems in Riet near Ludwigsburg. Ten years later, BMS Audio was founded. In 1995, we moved to Crailsheim, where we are based today, with a further branch near Nuremberg. We have since grown into a medium-sized family business - with short decision-making processes and flat hierarchies. We are experts in order to successfully continue the company's 30-year history with the next generation.
Milestones
BMS Audio is celebrating its 30th anniversary since its founding in 1995. The company started out in audio and loudspeaker technology. It has continued to develop and, since 2010, has increasingly specialized in tour guide systems. The strategic decision to rent out the systems in 2015 established this business area as one of the company's main pillars. Today, the 30th anniversary marks three decades of development and expansion in the field of professional group communication.
After many successful years of use, we are saying goodbye to our TOM-Audio TG-100 tour guide system. This reliable system has accompanied countless tours and events over the years. With the further development of our product range, we are now focusing on modern, more versatile systems that offer even greater comfort and functionality. Spare parts and accessories for existing TG-100 systems will remain available while supplies last.
In 2025, we introduced our lightest and most user-friendly tour guide system to date: the CLIP. This wireless ear clip offers maximum freedom of movement, intuitive operation, and hygienic comfort – without compromising on transmission quality. With over 30 hours of battery life and automatic channel selection, it’s a reliable companion for everyday use in guided tours. A consistent step forward in our product development – from practical experience, for practical needs.
Driving innovation: For our research and development efforts, we were awarded the BSFZ Seal for the years 2021–2024 – an official recognition that BMS Audio continuously invests in R&D. This includes, among other things, the technical development of our app-based tour guide system elysium® and the integration of live translations into existing hardware systems.
The seal confirms: We don’t just build products – we create real solutions. Our goal is to make group communication easier, more flexible, and more inclusive across languages.
In 2025, we opened up a new chapter in accessible communication: Live translation for guided tours – without the need for additional interpreters. As an upgrade to our trusted tour guide systems, the new Live Translation Set allows every guest to enjoy the tour in their own language. A true milestone for international reach, guest satisfaction, and seamless understanding – worldwide.
Once again, we are developing a completely new website in order to be as digitally accessible as possible.
Due to the expansion on an operational level, but also for the development of new markets worldwide, we have relocated.
